Abstract:
In todays’s world where the importance of both communication and communication efforts has increased, it has been a compulsion for every institution and organization to use a website. One of the most important innovations brought about by internet is the accessibility through websites. Municipalities are among the most prominent institutions that use this convenience. Municipalities have found the opportunity to establish closer relations with the public thanks to their websites. In this study, website of Municipality of Bingöl was examined as it is a means of communication. Content analysis method was used for analysis. No new coding scale was created for the study; a previously used coding scale which was also tested in terms of reliability, was adapted to Municipality of Bingöl in order to enhance the reliability of the study. Attention was paid not to change the meanings of the phrases during adaptation. Data were entered in the coding scale and analyzed. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that website of Municipality of Bingöl was a clear, simple and understandable one. The website was created in a simple structure rather than a complex one. Services were provided through the website by means of many different instruments of communication.
