Özet:
Bu çalışma güncel olayların toplumsal gerçekliği ile oyunların kuşatıcı özelliklerini bir araya getiren haber oyunları konu edinmektedir. Haber oyunların, vermeyi amaçladığı politik mesajı oyuncuya deneyim ve empati yoluyla aktarmasının etkisi sorgulanmaktadır. Suriyeli mültecileri konu edinen The Refugee Challenge ve 1000 Days Of Syria adlı iki haber oyun seçilerek, biçimsel analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulguları haber oyunların mültecilerin yaşadıkları hak ihlallerini oyuncuya deneyimleterek empati kurulmasında etkili olduğu yönündedir.

Abstract:
This study focuses on newsgames that combine the social reality of current events with the immersive features of games. It is questioned that the effect of newsgames giving its political message to player through providing experience and empathy. Two newsgames, The Refugee Challenge and 1000 Days of Syria, which deal with Syrian refugees, were selected and formal analysis was made. The findings of the study has supported that newsgames are effective in empathy through giving experience to player about refugees' the violations of the rights.
